Debt Advice

The Law Centre provides advice for people with debt problems including:

Our debt advice service covers bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

Community Legal Service. Contact details of advice centres and solicitors funded under the Community Legal Services scheme. You can search for agencies in your area that give debt advice. But beware, make sure that they will provide you with free advice before seeing anyone, as solicitors may charge, depending on your income, savings, etc.

Credit Action. Credit Action is a money-education charity, sponsored by the Consumer Credit Counselling Service.

Consumer Credit Counselling Service. This is a free service for families and individuals with debt problems.

UK Insolvency Helpline. This is an interactive online resource which offers advice on all debt and insolvency issues.

Office of Fair Trading. This site has leaflets that can be downloaded and give information on debt problems and consumer issues.

Trading Standards. This site will help you to find your local Trading Standards Office.
