Immigration Advice

The Law Centre provides free, independent advice on all aspects of immigration and asylum law including:

In some cases we can provide representation at immigration and asylum appeals.

We can also provide training for other agencies and community groups on immigration issues.

Our service covers Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

How to contact us

The asylum and immigration advice line runs on most Thursday mornings between 10am and 12 noon. The next Advice Line is on Thursday 31 July 2008.

Asylum Aid. An independent, national charity assisting refugees in the UK.

UK Home Office. Website of the Immigration and Nationality Directorate. Contains information about UK law and policy and offers a facility to download application forms.

Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI). National campaigning organisation on immigration issues. Also provides a telephone advice line.

Refugee Legal Centre. Assists asylum seekers with applications and appeal hearings. Also provides a telephone advice line.

Electronic Immigration Network. A useful resources page contains extensive links to agencies concerned with UK and international immigration and asylum issues.

Immigration Advisory Service UK. A national independent charity providing free immigration advice and appeal representation.

Community Legal Service Direct. Contact details of advice centres and solicitors funded under the Community Legal Services Scheme. You can search for agencies in your area that give debt advice. But beware, make sure that they will provide you with free advice before seeing anyone, as solicitors may charge, depending on your income, savings, etc
