Public Law
Public law is a new area of casework for Avon and Bristol Law Centre. It involves the decisions made by public bodies such as councils, government departments, the NHS, police, schools, prisons, etc. If this sort of public body makes a decision, or uses its power, in a way that is unfair, biased, disadvantages some people more than others, or is based on an incorrect interpretation of the law, then it may be possible to challenge it. This may include advice on:
- Making a complaint
- Ombudsman schemes
- Judicial review
Our service covers the South West.
