Immigration Advice
The Law Centre provides free, independent advice on all aspects of immigration and asylum law including:
- Asylum and Human Rights applications
- Family applications
- Extensions of leave to remain
- Student and visitor visa applications
- Applications for citizenship
- European Economic Area free movement rights
- Nationality
In some cases we can provide representation at immigration and asylum appeals.
We can also provide training for other agencies and community groups on immigration issues.
Our service covers Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
How to contact us
The asylum and immigration advice line runs on Thursday mornings between 10am and 1pm. The number is 0117 916 7733.
You can be referred to the Law Centre through another organisation.

Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI). National campaigning organisation on immigration issues. Also provides a telephone advice line.
Refugee Legal Centre. Assists asylum seekers with applications and appeal hearings. Also provides a telephone advice line.

Immigration Advisory Service UK. A national independent charity providing free immigration advice and appeal representation.
Community Legal Advice. Previously called Community Legal Service Direct, this website provides details of advice centres and solicitors funded under the Community Legal Services scheme. You can search for agencies in your area that give legal advice. You should check in advance whether you will be charged for the advice and representation you receive.
